What Is Radiosurgery?
Radiosurgery is a radiation therapy that uses targeted radiation to minimize or eliminate tumors. It is non-invasive, which means that there is no cutting involved. Radiosurgery is defined as “surgery” because of the high level of precision of the energy beams. Stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) is a treatment option that uses precisely targeted radiation to destroy tumors located outside the brain and spine. CyberKnife, the radiosurgery that Tyler Neurosurgical uses, is designed for both high-precision radiosurgical and SBRT procedures.

Learn More About CyberKnife Surgery
The CyberKnife system is a treatment option for patients with cancerous and non-cancerous tumors and can be used on patients who have inoperable or surgically complex tumors. The CyberKnife radiosurgery is the only fully robotic radiation delivery system. CyberKnife System has a unique design that uses real-time imaging with the robotic design to help deliver a maximum dose of radiation directly to the tumor with sub-millimeter precision. The CyberKnife System is able to do this by tracking and adjusting for tumor or patient movement during the procedure. CyberKnife Surgery uses its accuracy to target the tumor while minimizing exposure to healthy organs and tissues.
